Tourist Event Guide Spring 2012
On behalf of our TDC’s we would like to welcome you to our piece of paradise. Enjoy your stay! Holmes, Jackson and Washington County TDC’s have teamed up to promote the region for day trip tourists. The tri-county team will be developing whole and half day trips. These trips will include eco, nature, agri, and cultural/heritage tours. Whether you enjoy farms, state parks or outdoor recreation, our team will have a trip for you. Trips will be listed along with the local festivals on the inside of this brochure as they develop.
The region of Northwest Florida that encompasses Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties offers a taste of pristine natural resources that have remained unchanged throughout Florida's history.
Hotels and Motels
Beautiful Jackson County has an amazing array of Hotel and Motel accommodations. There are an abundance of Hotels near I-10, others in and around Marianna and surrounding towns as well as fishing Lodges and Inns.
Golfing In Jackson County
Florida Caverns Golf Course
(Public, 9 holes, $11.00 - $9.00) This course features small, elevated greens. The terrain is rolling, so you can expect some interesting lies in the fairways. The course is located next to a state park, so squirrels and deer are common scenery. The green fees shown (subject to change) are good for all-day play. Walking the course is allowed on weekdays and during designated hours on weekends.
Local Attractions
Within its borders Jackson County keeps the magic and beauty of the Florida found behind the billboards and beyond the glare of theme park lights. It is a natural wonder few have discovered. Low rolling hills crowded by towering stands of pine and sprawling oaks are crisscrossed by a shimmering lacework of unspoiled waterways. Meandering streams and rivers, crystal clear springs, vast lakes and quiet ponds endlessly feed the lush scenery, abundant wildlife and the dreams of sportsmen and nature lovers everywhere.
